I have been a student of the Violet Flame for a long time, and the Ascension Process.

As soon as I can figure out how to use this thing, I hope to write something worth reading. 

In the mean time, here are some precious gems on Fire in various Sacred Traditions

Ask for “not light but the fire that totally enflames and carries us into God

by ecstatic unctions and burning affections.  This fire is God...”

BONAVENTURE

For a hundred years and more in the West we have been taught the importance of mastering our thoughts. “Thoughts are things” we hear.

“Let those who can hasten in thought act without delay.

One must become accustomed to the fact that each thought is a communion with Fire.

Hence, it is shameful to have an ignorant or insignificant thought.” Fiery World I, #33

Here is an analogy about our work with the Fiery World, from a Master thru the Roerichs’ in the 1930’s:

The master smelter counseled the new worker on how to approach the fiery furnace... The master said to him,

“Let me give you the proper clothes, change your footwear, shield your eyes, and indicate the proper breathing. ... I can make the most fiery work attractive to you. You will love the flashes and the glow of fires. In the tension of the flame you will find, not terror, but the tremor of ecstasy, and a proper conception of fire will fortify your being.”

Thus may one advise each one who begins to think about the Fiery World. At the outset let us bring complete devotion and cultivate that step of love which acts as an inextinguishable Light. Since the earthly world is based upon manual creativeness, to approach thought-creativeness is more attractive.” Fiery World I, #106

A DESCRIPTION OF THE FIERY, LUMINOUS NATURE OF HIGHER HEAVENS

Here is what Charles Leadbetter, a clairvoyant of the early last century says of the fiery nature of Heaven:

“On higher planes everything is what down here we should call luminous, and above a certain level everything may be said to be permeated by fire, yet not at all such fire as we know on the physical plane.  What we call by that name down here cannot exist without something which either burns or glows, and it is only a kind of reflection or lower expression of a higher abstract thing which we cannot sense.  Try to think of a fire which does not burn, but is in a liquid form, something like water.  This was known to the followers of the first great Zoroaster, for they had this fire which burned no fuel on their altars, a sacred fire by means of which they symbolized divine life.

The way of reaching the Logos is along the line of fire, and the ancient [Zathustrans] Parsis knew this well, and raised themselves until they were one with the fire, so as to reach Him by way of it.”

EARLY CHRISTENDOM

John the Baptist foretold that a higher initiation would come than the one he brought of the baptism of water:  

“I indeed baptize you with water, but one cometh after me whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.”

That fiery baptism was given by Jesus Christ, and it is given today.  We might say he baptises us with holy fire every time we commune with his Heart and when we meditate upon the fire within that heart.

APOSTLES WERE BLESSED BY TONGUES OF FIRE

 When it came time for the Apostles to start their mission fire came down from heaven to empower them.  Jesus has left and as He promised he sends the Helper for them: 

"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:2-4)

                    WE ARE SAVED BY FIRE

Works are our creations, our uses of energy

The Apostle Paul told us that if we have negative works, the divine fire can and must transform them:   He says  

If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.   1 Corinthians 3:14-16

OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE

The New Testament quotes the Old, when the Book of Hebrews says   “...our God is a consuming fire.”   Hebrews 12:28-29

BUDDHISM AND TIBET

Our guide says, “Let me take you to Tibet.”  We zoom over the Himalayas and come over a valley where disciples are surrounding what is clearly a master soul.

The head disciple, a woman is asking him something:

 “O, Master Lotus Born most kind- In the future, sentient beings will have very short attention spans and a great many things will clutter their minds… they will blaspheme the supreme teachings of the Secret Mantra. At that time, plague, famine and war will be widespread amongst sentient beings… You have spoken of many ways to remedy these afflictions, but beings in the future will have no time to practice.  Those who do have a slight inclination towards practice will be beset by powerful obstacles.…  In such times, Guru, what are the benefits of the Vajra Guru mantra?  

The Master says, Let me summarize it for you, Yeshe:

The Golden Mantra when used correctly leads one toward

 the beautiful Body of Rainbow Fire.

 The Golden Mantra encompasses the entire path, teaching and powers

 of the Buddhas and divine spirits;

The Golden Mantra grants the powers and accomplishments

of the fulfillment of the Dharma,

The Golden Mantra transfers one’s consciousness and destiny to the fiery Buddha heavens of Bliss, Glory and All-accomplishing Action, even while on earth.

The Golden Mantra helps guide one victoriously

 through the after life and descent into the astral world;

My mantra helps deliver one from the poisons

of the lower spiritual, mental and desire natures;

It brings wealth and the ability to assist all sentient beings as is required.

The Golden Mantra transfers one’s consciousness and destiny to the fiery Buddha heavens of Bliss, Glory and All-accomplishing Action.

Let us watch.  As the disciples sound the mantra, the fiery energy in their seven energy centers starts to glow and sparkle.  In some it catches fire and we see divine images appear in their aura, as dark images are draw into the Fire and transformed.  The more they sound the mantra, the more the fire burns brighter and brighter and penetrates deeper within them. We see a wall of light form around them keeping out the darkness of the inner atmosphere of the planet.  We see light rays pouring out from the master in the center of the circle.   We see a globe of fire around the group, growing larger and larger as they repeat the mantra.  The globe is turning faster and faster.

Later we watch this female disciple leave the group and wander the villages, teaching the people.  We see a young woman ask her “What is thy mantra, where do you get your power, lady?”  She fixes her mind deep within and fills the sky with the sound of

OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM

“What does it mean, lady?” asks a child.

She, Yeshe Shogul, looks at the child.  She pauses and says  “It is a simple request to the great Buddha, my teacher, Padma Sambhava.  It means

Oh great lotus born guru, bestow upon me the diamond empowerment of constant awareness of the Supreme Self to my body, speech and mind. Please bestow the great spiritual siddhi powers upon me and ripen my being so that I may never be separated from the ecstacy primordial fiery luminosity. 


A young man says from the edge of the circle around her “What do I focus my mind on when we do this?”

Yeshe:  “I would not limit your inner Buddha who will flash before your eyes what he would have you see.  However, it has been said for your starting point that when you recite OM visualize a white light coming from Padma Sambhava's forehead and dissolving into your own forehead, purifying and empowering you with the body of a Buddha.

When you recite AH visualize a ruby light coming from Padma Sambhava’s throat center and dissolving into yours, purifying and empowering you with the speech of a Buddha.

When you recite HUM visualize a blue light coming from Padma Sambhava’s heart center and dissolving into yours, purifying and empowering you with the mind of a Buddha.”
